CURRENT NEEDS: Click here for a list of what we are currently seeking for the Men’s and Women’s houses – from small item like dish soap and paper towels, to larger items like vacuum cleaners!
If there is something on this list you’d like to give, please contact denise@midcoastrecovery.org.
DONATION ACCEPTANCE POLICY: We receive a lot of interest in donating to the Men’s and Women’s Recovery Residences, and community support and donations are critical for keeping the houses running and serving the residents – THANK YOU!
To ensure that your donation is put to good use and fits within the mission and vision of the organization, we ask all potential donors to contact us with information and photos about what you’d like to donate.
Please email us at support@midcoastrecovery.org with your contact information, what you’d like to donate, and photos of the item(s) if they are furniture, clothing, etc.
FOOD DONATIONS: Please contact us about food ideas. Each of the residents has their own dietary preferences and cooking style, so we have found that large quantities of a single type of food item may not be used quickly. While we can accept some shelf-stable food donations, we encourage donors to consider Hannaford (or other) gift cards, allowing residents to purchase what they need. The residents may also appreciate occasional donations of fresh produce (fruits and vegetables).
We will gladly accept fresh produce or nutritious prepared food for weekly communal dinners at The Friends House. They are typically Tuesday nights. Please contact Amanda at amanda@midcoastrecovery.org or 802-448-2992 if you’re interested.
CLOTHING DONATIONS: We are not currently accepting clothing donations, though that may change. We suggest checking with other organizations like Care Net in Rockland (crisis pregnancy center), the Knox County Homeless Coalition, NuDay Syria in Camden, or Heavenly Threads in Camden.
Serendipity (Camden) Women’s House account: If you have gently-worn and in-style women’s clothing to consign, you can donate the proceeds to women in recovery through Serendipity in Camden. Ask that the clothing be sold through the 63 Washington Street House Account, and the store credit will be available for women to shop.
OTHER ORGANIZATIONS WHO NEED DONATIONS: If the items you wish to donate to Midcoast Recovery Coalition aren’t a good fit at this time, please reach out to other nonprofit groups!
