Ned BachusBoard of Directors
Ned Bachus earned an MA degree in counseling (1974) and an MFA in writing (1988). As an award-winning faculty member at Community College of Philadelphia, he counseled and taught deaf and hearing students from developmental to honors level, creating courses that linked content in psychology and English and that were taught collaboratively across academic disciplines.
Bachus’s writing earned him fellowships from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and from Ireland’s Cill Rialaig Project. His Fleur-de-Lis Press collection of short stories, City of Brotherly Love, was awarded the 2013 Independent Publishers (IPPY) Gold Medal for literary fiction. Open Admissions, his memoir about teaching and learning will be published in October by Wild River Books.
Relocated to Maine, he writes full-time and volunteers with organizations that work to promote health and opportunity for all members of the community.
