Get Involved!

We need you – yes, you – to get involved

In today’s world, it can be easy to put community second. Or third. Or tenth. Here at Mid-coast Recovery, we know that community is the living, beating heart of who we are. The opposite of addiction isn’t sobriety; it’s community.

Community means that no one is disposable. The world is round; there’s nowhere to throw people out. We can either support healing and wellness where we are, or we can continue to allow sickness to grow and spread; there is no in-between.

Mid-coast Recovery create spaces and programs for your neighbors, your children, your parents, your spouses – to heal.

As you can imagine, the need for this work is far greater in the mid-coast than we can currently address alone. We’re excited to keep expanding and to create accessible avenues of recovery for everyone we can – but there’s way more than we can do by ourselves; we need you.

Volunteer

There’s always more work to do than our passionate staff and amazing volunteers can handle. Can you join us for one of our regular volunteer days to help get more local people understand that there is a space for them to recover? Or to help clean up and renovate our buildings, which are each over a century old and always need more attention than we have time to give? There’s a lot of ways to volunteer, we would love to hear from you today!

Please let us know how you want to help!

We’re passionate about supporting local people who need help, regardless of class. Because of this, residence at our houses is cheaper than any other local rents, and includes the personal and programatic support of our skilled and dedicated staff. Because of this commitment, from a business perspective we run at a deficit. So we’re asking you now- what is it worth to you to know that there’s a safe place for your loved ones, neighbors, and community members to go when they need support with their struggle to heal from the debilitating, life-ruining disease of addiction? If you can see the need for these spaces, please consider becoming a monthly donor. Even if it’s only for $10/month, the stability of monthly donations allow us to budget much more precisely, which frees us up to spend more time doing the direct work of supporting recovery in the midcoast. Thank you so much for your support.

Connect someone who needs our support

We exist to help people recover from addiction. The need for this is vast, and some of the people who need recovery services the most have the hardest time getting here. The social, psychological, logistical, and financial challenges that addicts face making it to recovery services are huge, and support from those close to them can mean the difference between life and death. If you know someone who you think would benefit from recovery services who is serious about turning a corner in their life, please help them connect with us. You can save lives.
