Bruce Hodsdon Elected to Board
MCRC is proud to announce the election of Bruce Hodsdon to our Board of Directors. He brings knowledge of the recovery community along with the desire to help in any way he can.
I grew up in Winthrop, Maine and graduated from Winthrop High School. I worked for 34 years at the Maine Department of Transportation holding several positions there including working in Human Resources and working at the Maine State Ferry Service as Planning and Research Associate.
While working for MDOT I was a member volunteer at Maine Service Employees Association- SEIU Local 1989. At MSEA-SEIU Local 1989 I worked as a member volunteer doing shop steward work, member training, investigations, conflict resolution, and contract negotiations. I served as President of MSEA-SEIU Local 1989 for 4 years and served on the SEIU International Executive Board during that time.
Over the years I have volunteered in a number of capacities including serving as
Treasurer and Moderator of the Port Clyde Baptist Church, member of the Town of St. George Budget Committee and Charter Committees, and Chair of the Knox County Democrats. I also served on the Penquis board of directors.
I helped form the Coastal Recovery Community Center in 2016 and currently serve as Co-Manager of the center. I volunteer for Restorative Justice of Maine as a Mentor and member of RJP’s Open Table project. I am working on becoming a Certified Recovery Coach through the Maine Recovery Hub.
I reside in Port Clyde, Maine and I have been married for 30 years and I have 3 beautiful daughters and 5 wonderful grandchildren.
